The Learning Ladder - Testimonials from our Parents

The following were written by parents whose children are currently attending or have graduated from The Learning Ladder.

“My son turned five in the summer and I knew he wasn’t ready for kindergarten.  I wanted to find a learning environment that would help him gain the confidence he needed to be away from mom and dad for longer periods.  After discovering The Learning Ladder and meeting the staff, I knew my son would do well.  Having him interact with children of all ages, I felt it would help him deal with many situations.  The past year has done wonders for my son.  He’s more of a leader now and is much more confident in himself.”

“Thank you to The Learning Ladder!”

“The Learning Ladder has provided my children with a warm and secure environment and plenty of attention from caring adults.  My children have gained self confidence by being encouraged to learn, develop and grow in their own unique way with lots of teacher encouragement.  They have had the opportunity to discover, have fun, and learn from a huge range of materials and activities located at a child’s eye level that change continuously.  The communication between home and school has been awesome!  There are also many opportunities for parents to be involved throughout the year.  The Learning Ladder has provided a very positive experience for my children!”

“We love it!”
Children ages 3 and 5

“Our daughter has attended The Learning Ladder since she was 3 1/2 years old. We have been very pleased with the program over the past year and a half.  The teachers are wonderful and always take the time to discuss any issues we may have or concerns with our child’s learning.  The programs are great too-where else can your child have the opportunity not only to learn the basics but also to attend tumbling, computer and Spanish classes?  Our daughter loves her teachers as well as the friends that she has made and we look forward to enrolling our son when he is ready!”

“Our son has been enrolled in The Learning Ladder program since he was three years old.  We are proud to have been one of the first families enrolled at The Learning Ladder when they opened their doors in October 2001.  We cannot say enough about The Learning Ladder Montessori program.  Megan Youngstrom, director and her staff of teachers and substitutes are fantastic!  The additional programs that have been offered such as Spanish, music, computer and tumbling have allowed our child to be involved in extra activities that have not been offered at his age through our community programs.  We have found that the staff takes time to understand and nurture our child.  They have encouraged him to build on his strengths and work on his weaknesses.  The staff has kept us informed and gets us involved in the program with field trips, conferences, and other activities.  We can honestly say that we haven’t had a day where our son didn’t want to go to school, and when he didn’t come home learning something new.  The day he came home counting to 20, singing the alphabet song, spelling his name, writing his name have all been wonderful milestones.  But most importantly, he has fun at school.  He talks about his teachers, his friends, and the activities of the day.  That in itself tells us that we made the right decision enrolling our son at The Learning Ladder.”

“Our daughter, age 5 has been enrolled at The Learning Ladder since 2002.  Prior, she had been in an in-home daycare.  We really noticed an improvement in her behavior due to the consistent and caring approach of the staff.  The staff asks their students to be responsible for themselves in simple, age-appropriate ways.  In addition, our daughter has had the opportunity to take enrichment classes in the area of tumbling, Spanish, and music.  She really enjoys these classes and we, as parents, love it too!  We feel the classes provide our daughter with an opportunity to get involved in a number of different areas without us having to be out of the house in the evenings.  We have been very happy with the staff.  My daughter attends four days a week and has often asked to come Fridays when she is at home with her mom.  That is a good sign.  Our daughter will be going to kindergarten this fall.  We feel that staff has prepared her well for her next experience.”
